Lately I have been working on my portrait skills. As i qualified film maker I am ffasciated by the story of an image and how this is is told by the mis en scene. On saturday me mate Nicky done some make up work for her make up portfolio. I went along to watch as she was doing make up on my friend Fozzy. While i was there i came up with a concept for an image to coincide with the make up. I went home got my gear and shot him as a base image and then composited the background in a cinematic fashion to create this fictional character ' The Hunter'
I had really fun shooting and editing this image. It great seeing an image in your minds eye, but then to make it real is a very cool thing.
Strobist info: Gm400 using a 16 inch beauty dish camera right high and shooting down @ 1/4 power and another Gm400, bare blub and flagged behind subject for rim lighting @ 1/2 power.
My name is Peter Sawyer and I write on behalf of Phototuts+ ([link])
I would like to feature this image in an article I am currently writing about the best male portraits on the web.
A link to the image, and the name of the piece would be given in the article.
Please let me know if you are ok with this ASAP.
Thanks Peter
